1937 Kay Bass - $2200 AS-IS, LOCAL PICKUP ONLY This is a beautiful bass made in 1937, which is the first year that Kay made basses. This bass has a damaged lower rib which has some wood putty and is covered with clear tape. It was in this condition when we purchased it. If we do the repairs before you purchase it, it will more than double our asking price ($5,000). Purchase as-is for the best price. This ultra rare bass comes with a solid rosewood fretboard and tailpiece. The bridge has a tuner velcroed on it right now, but that could be easily removed. The bass is covered with nicks, scratches and chips as would be expected for a bass that has been played for 75 years! Please look at each photo carefully. We WILL NOT ship this bass, it must be picked up in person. Please take the time to consider this vintage bass and know that we have a bargain! Due to size, we will not ship this item.
